Question about 301 Redirect and SEO rankings
Hi, I currently have two main websites, they are both old domains, but one of them is very highly ranked for a hard to get key phrase the other is not. One is Joomla 2.5 and the other, which is the highly ranked one, uses the old classic .asp.
I would like to combined the two websites into one with a 301 redirect, I would like to direct the .asp site to the joomla 2.5 site so that I can focus all my efforts on one site, but I'm worried I will lose my PR4 rank and great SEO position.
My question is:
If I do a 301 redirect will I lose my Google page rank and key phrase rankings? Is there a safe way to do this without losing anything?
