AMD RAIDXpert - Email Configuration

I have a HP Mini Micro Server which comes with an AMD Board. Its a great little test rig but I have one issue with the software which I can't work round.
On setting up the AMD RAIDXpert software it looks to by very limited.
What I am after is a way to send out emails to a none hosted locally email server.
I was hoping to point the configuration to say my hotmail account or mobile me account.
There doesn't even look to me a place to enter a user name and password to send out the email using your credentials.
I have attached a screen shot below which might make things clearer.
Not sure if anyone has managed to come up with a work around yet?

So from that does it only appear you can only send emails to like a local exchange server? I was hoping to send out directly to my own personal email account not hosted locally?

It does seem to imply that, as there is no area to enter a port number or protocol like SSL or TLS3 which is required by Google mail.  Have you tried just setting the server to your gmail/hotmail server (smtp.live.com for hotmail or smtp.gmail.com for gmail) and using your hotmail/gmail sign-in username and password as the user account?
I am going to try this out tonight and let you know the results thanks for some good ideas
I tried everything I could think of and it would only appear that you have to have an open mail relay internally to send out mail from this program. This is crap but looks no way round what I am trying to do
