Some users want to install Foxit on the servers.  I understand this is kinda of desktop app.  Would you guys recommend installing this piece on the servers?  Would it cause any issues?
I am not familiar with this app at all.

What is it to be used for?

If it is just to view PDFs while at the console, you might want to install a PDF reader in "Portable" mode - which means it puts nothing in the registry and so cannot muck up an extension mappings, ProdIDs or COM registrations (DLL Registrations).

The full fledged viewer PDF X-Change can be installed this way: http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer

Then there are many very lightweight viewers as well - designed for portable: Sumatra is one: http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/free-pdf-reader.html

Foxit can be installed portably as well, but I'm not sure if a portable installer is provided by the company like it is for PDF X-change.

They select Foxit to print PDFs.  Apparently it prints PDFs better than Adobe.

So it sounds like they are using it to generate PDFs?

If they only generate PDFs via a printer (almost the only way I do it anymore) then there are a bunch of free products you can install locally on each machine.

Nitro PDF Reader includes a PDF printer.

I use Bullzip PDF Printer as well.

I can't comment directly on the code quality of Foxit's server solutions.

Yes, for some reason Foxit prints PDFs better.  I just need to know if no problems installing it on Servers.  Don't want to cause any issues on production Servers.
