Changing exchange 2003 to native mode via command line

I currently have exchange server 2003 and trying to upgrade to exchange 2010 on a different box. When I try to install exchange 2010 it says that 2003 is not running in native mode. I cannot get into the exchange system manager on the 2003 box to switch it to native mode. Every time I try to open it, it gives me a ton of errors. Is it possible to switch it to native mode via the command line?
