ASP.Net Application won't run

I have a commercial application that is written in asp.net, running on an IIS version 6 server.

My customer is running an older version of my application.   They are attempting to upgrade to the newer version.  After updating the web site, the system will not render the startup page.  It gives me a blank page.  I can't find any information in the event log, Also, my application log doesn't show anything happening.  It only shows that the startup page loads.  The startup page should redirect to the main application form, but id doesn;t.  I am stumped by this.

This app is running on numerous servers without error.

The log below is the IIS log.  The app is currently configured to run on port 81, but this was for testing only.  I don't know what the log is telling me.

I tried created a new web site in IIS. Also tried pointing the old web site to the new directory. Both yield same results.

This customer is in the UK.  Most other customers are US based.  Don't know if something with timezone could be causing issue.  It the app were throwing an exception, I would see it in either the event log, or my app log.  Neither one shows anything.

They are running IE8.  I also tried Chrome.   Same results.  ASP.Net 4.0.  When I point the web site to the older version it works.  Using same web.config.  Same app pool.

Ideas?

Hi,

In IIS have u set the virtual directory target framewok 4.0.
also application domain is in same framework version i.e 4.0
One Possible solution.

1) First of all check which frame work you have installed on your Server.

2) Then change your target frame work through Visual Studio 2010/2008

3) Then go to virtual directory ,Right Click Go to Properties then go to ASP.NET Tab and select ASP.NET version from the Drop down.

99% it will solve your error.
Dear!!!

Above comments are correct and It worked for me also before.

Another suggetion is like sometime you will get error because of aspnet_regiis.

1. Just open the Visual Studio Command prompt
2. type aspnet_regiis.exe -i
3. Click enter. It will install and register the correct .Net framework for you.

Note - You may need to run the Visual studio command prompt as administrator.

I think the application is throwing a javascript exception.

Am waiting on customer to test new script.
