Backup with Roboscript

Hello Experts

i am using robocopy to sync my backups from the storage to an external disk for an offsite backup.
i have 3 iomega USB3 2 TB disks,
the total data size is about 5 TB, is there any command in the robocopy that will continue to the next disk when the first disk is full ?

Thanks.

No, robocopy is a single target and single destination command.

You can use the native Windows Server Backup and dedicate these external disks so it will rotate between the drives only overwriting the oldest point in time while keep the latest backup and historical restore points. This way you never have to worry about the disks filling up.

I dedicate one virtual disk to my DC and run two backups daily. This VM has been successfully creating backups since December without any intervention from me.

Hi motnahp00

my backup is once a week and in total is 5 TB witch should be copied to the 3 external disks in one job,
the job should copy the data to the first disk and when it's full move to the second disk, and so on and so forth...

all the point is to get the data copied to the 3 disks in one job.

I'm personally not a fan of dis-contiguous drives for a single backup. I don't advise Windows backup for your instance. You might want to explore Symantec. I personally don't have any experience with this backup suite though.

Like I said, I have no experience using any of the Symantec Backup suites. My knowledge is limited here.

Hi motnahp00

thank you for replying,
i need to know what is the best way to copy data to external disks (an app or script)
that will continue to the next disk without me to point to it.

I think the way you phrased your title and original question is not going to attract the attention or expertise you are looking for. I can only provide input using robocopy at this moment.
