Hi all

We are running SCCM Version 4.00.6487.2000 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server (SP1), when we refresh collections we sometimes receive an egg timer which does not disappear for up to 48hours. If I reboot the server the refresh will then work but is there a way of resetting this without a reboot.

Thanks
Mark

If you upgrade to R3 then you get a new feature that will refresh your collections every 5 minutes or so. It is called Active Directory Delta Discovery

So basically, your collections would be nearly 100% updated at all times.

As for the delay, it depends on the size of AD, complexity of the queries, bandwidth of DC-SCCM connection etc. Limiting the user-made collections to pre-defined collections is a good way of saving some CPU cycles by removing duplication of work.
