Powerpoint 2011 for Mac: Possible to automate only a portion of slides?

I created a 60-slide presentation. There is a 15-minute period in which I need the slides to autorun, changing every 15 seconds. I finally figured out how to set the timings and transitions, but now when I try to play the presentation, it starts at the slides that have the timings on them rather than from the title slide. This happens even when I click on the title slide and choose to play the slideshow from the current slide.

I can’t figure out how to get my presentation to play from the start, with the slides manually advancing up to a specific slide, then having the timed slides autorun, and then going back to manual advancing when the auto run slides have been passed.

I’m on Mac with the latest OS and PowerPoint 2011.

I need to turn in this presentation for review later today. Any help in resolving this situation (or finding out that it’s impossible to do what I want to do) will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for the responses.

My slides are numbered from 1-60. Slides with timed transitions are 10-54 (to run in the background during a short breakout session). Slides 55-60 are manual. The manual slides will be displayed while I’m speaking on their topics.

I’ve been up all night trying to figure this out. I will try xtermie’s solution in a few hours. It’s a bit beyond my PPT skill set, but I should be able to follow the instructions when I’ve gotten a little sleep. I’ll try to fix it on the PC when I get to work since the presentation will ultimately be given on a PC.

Fingers crossed.
Thank you SO much!!! I understood the solution better when I was actually in PPT following the instructions. It took very time to do, and I never would have found this on my own. Thank you, xtermie!!
No problem, glad I could help!  May your presentation go great!
