Active Directory Problems

Some desktops in our company need to be restarted every morning, they will open the account, but none of the file will be there ( we use folder redirection). A restart seems to solve this problem, but I find it intolerable that we even need to think about restarting because of something like this.

Try this to fix the temporary profile dilemma:


We believe it to be DNS problems it happens on a few desktops and every time we check log files there are countless dns errors.
From your DC run this:

net stop ntds
net start ntds

If you any problems with your DNS service, you will see it here.

Also run this and tell me if you see any errors

repadmin /syncall


Done, no errors. Will update tomorrow. I am going to have the user run a bat restarting the dns service next time it happens.
