Windows Device Lock on PDA Appears to Close Browser Session

auraorange used Ask the Experts™
We are using Intermec CN50 PDA devices with the standard Windows 6.1 build.

When we wipe the device to factory settings, set the pin lock to 15 minutes and configure the data connection, we are able to log onto a webpage and leave the device for as long as we want until we decide to unlock the device and continue to browse the internet.

However, when we connect the PDA using active sync to Exchange 2010 and sync the device.  We then leave the PDA turned on, it stays connected but the device does not lock.  If we manually lock the device and leave for 30 mins upwards the browser shuts down and has to be relaunched when the device is unlocked.

We have full control of the device and it's settings but the council manage the ICT infrastructure such as exchange and security policies.  We are not sure whats causing this problem and if there was settings we could try.

"Windows 6.1 build"

You mean Windows CE right?
Also which browser is being used?

It says Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and the browser is Internet Explorer
perhaps the browser is till opened, its just in the background.  You can try this app to view all the open applications even they don't see it.

We did check task manager and the browser didn't even show in there.
Are any other applications open before the lock that are closed after its unlocked?
I found a registry item in

Internet Explorer

Called ExitTimeOut and this is set to 900 which I assume is seconds therefore =15 minutes

An initial 1 hour test proved positive and my manager is going to test for longer periods of time on Monday when i'm off work

Fingers crossed....
Wow!!! GREAT FIND!!!

That reg find has worked, however, i'd like to award you points for trying to help me?
