Hi,

We're about to implement a Group policy on several call centers, and would appreciate recommendations or examples on what should be disabled safely, especially destructive stuff..

The Active directory is windows 2008 R2, and the workstations are windows XP x86.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The operators of the workstations should be able to work ONLY with the assosicated programs, and nothing more.

They should NOT have access to:
Drive C
Control panel
System options
Removable devices (Mass storage devices)
CMD
Misc options which may damage the system
Task manager
Games etc..

Thanks
Drive C -

Control panel

You can define new Group policy and define the foloowing settings in users configuration

User configuration---->Administrative templates------>control panel------>prohibit access to control panel.

System options

What are the things you want to disable in this? Can you please explain this in detail?

Removable devices (Mass storage devices)

Below ish te article which explains this ,

CMD

Misc options which may damage the system

To accomplish this , you need to make sure users are not a member of LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR group. This way , they wont be able to install or run any of the program which might harm their systems. They will be having limited access to perform day to day task

Task manager

Games
