I am helping with a migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and tasked with setting up an ISA 2006 Enterprise server in a separate DMZ single leg configuration for the Exchange 2010 CAS servers. Does the server have to be a member of the domain? Can an expert send me a few pointers and a straight forward intruction?

Being a domain member is not a must, but I would recommend to do so.

Export the CAS certificate from the cas server and import it into ISA server ( with the private key).

create exchange publish rules ( OWA, SMTP , POP,,etc).
