Thanks a lot for all these commands...

Can we use the same for ESXi 4.1..?

My only concern is how to locate the PID for any process got stuck...Like...
When I have Rescanned Storage Adapter (clicked on Rescan All) on my ESXi under Configuration TAB via accessing my ESXi through Vcenter... And same got stuck...as its taking long-long time and status showing in progress even after 1-2 hour. Then what is the best way to locate PID for this Rescan Job/In progress job on ESX...so that we can kill it to make ESX free?

PS: I am login on Vcenter through my domain ID -abc51..While on Putty session of ESX...am in with root ID

some commands can be used with ESXi.

if you get a non reponsive rescan of storage - restart the host server, klll proceses is not going to help.

No..! host is responding..and i am able to  look for other options ..but rescan only is still showing in progress..so i just wanna to kill that rescan process..is it possible to locate & Kill that?

or should i make my vms down from this esxi and then reboot it?

esxtop is running on host..but How to comeback to # prompt after running esxtop command?

Thanks
