Access is denied on a folder on local drive after computer crash

I have a computer that crashed, or would not boot up. I took the hard drive out and put it in an enclosure. I can access every folder on this drive except the user's folder with all the data I need.

I get Access is denied. I don't see a security tab on this folder properties. I have run chkdsk on the drive and that did not resolve it.

any ideas?
