iphone 4

using Outlook 2007, how can I synch contacts created under the main contact folder? The main contacts in Outlook do synch to my iphone but if I create a new contact folder under that, that folder and contacts inside do not synch to the iphone. How can I fix that? Thanks.

The contact sub-folders should sync to the iPhone.  When looking at your Contacts, select Groups in the top left corner.  You should be able to select a specific folder or All Contacts to be able to see them.
Any new contacts would be added to your default folder, specified in Settings...Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

for some reaon that still doesnt seem to do it.

Unfortunatley, the active Sync with Iphone and Exchange is really only for the default mail folders

You can get it to sync the subfolders but you may need to open them first

Also check the settings for the exchange account
Make Sure your Push settings include your selected folders

The sync is more reliant on the software version on the phone and your Exchange server, regardless of which Outlook client version you have.

Under Settings...Mail Contacts Calendars...Exchange Account, you can specify which mail folders sync automatically.  By default it only syncs the Inbox, but you can add more mail folders.

On my iPhone running 5.x, I see multiple contact folders, and can switch between them. Normally I just use the All Contacts folder, which shows me contacts from all folders.  This has been the case for both our Exchange 2003 and 2010 server.

it won't work I am afraid. subfolders won't show on iphone. spent ages trying to get it working.

Using just Outlook and Personal Folders, you can only sync one folder.  If you account is on an Exchange server, all contact folders on the server should sync.  Screen shot below fom iPhone running iOS 5 and account on Exchange server.
