Convert Profile to new user on windows 7

I have a situation where I want to convert a generic user on each machine to a specific user login.  They are using local profiles on a domain.

The copy to function will not work and I would prefer to not have to edit the registry.  Anyone have a good way to make this happen?

You may be able to use the Windows 7 built-in Windows Easy Transfer tool to do this.  Here is a previous discussion where we addressed a similar scenario:

The only problem that exists is that windows IE setups are lost,  the favorites are there but not the setup as far as the Bing bar, etc.

Yes, it's not quite a perfect method but it's much better than manually copying over files/folders, settings, etc.
