I have a column named Asset Code and NTEE Code in my Excel Sheet.

I need to find all records that have an asset code of 5 or higher.   In addition all the records must contain the string R20 in the NTEE Code column  Is there a way to do this?

Use the filter (on the Data tab of the Ribbon, or under Data in the menu if you have Excel 2003).

You can very easily set a filter condition of >=5 for asset code, and contains R20 for NTEE code.

Is there a way to save the filter and put on other excel sheets?
No points for this

You can copy this filtered list and paste it elsewhere, if that is what you meant.

did you attach something?  I didn't see it
hi Al,

Does the attached file in this link work close to the way you would like?
It allows you to enter a value in a cell & the code then copies the matching data into another sheet.

I think I have to sign up for something.  It may be too much trouble to do this.

Please review http:#a38005141 and http:#a38005369

Those posts tell you (1) how to find the data and (2) how to copy them to another worksheet.

:)
hi Al,

Sorry I had forgotten that you have to sign up. It shouldn't be any trouble because it is free & there is no obligation imposed. However, I have attached the file to this post. I had designed it for a specific task, but you may be able to modify it or use the concepts it contains for your own layout.

If you can't modify my file and you don't understand the comments that Patrick has re-iterated, then I recommend that you upload/attach an example file for one of us to modify.
