What's the best media player for playing DVDs (VIDEO_TS) folders

Hi,

I use MPC for playing .mkv, avi, mp4 files on my Win 7 Pro laptop.

I was wondering if there's a better player for playing DVDs (VIDEO_TS folders).

I've been using VLC but it leaves black bars on all 4 sides of the screen. There's no option to Pan and Scan (available in MPC) in VLC.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Try pressing 'C' repeatedly in full screen to see if one of the crop settings is suitable.
Otherwise it does not appear to have pan/scan functionality.

You could try MPC-HC.

Mplayer is also an open source player that supports Video_TS folders.

Also as a side note you could use something like Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools and then mount the folders as virtual drives and then use them as virtual disc's.

Thanks Tribus. My bad, I forgot to mention that I'm using MPC-HC right now.

I was wondering if there are other good players out there.

I'll check out Mplayer.

Thanks for your time..
