Time Machine getting stuck on OSX Server 10.6
I have a client using Time Machine with an external Drobo on a Mac Mini running OSX 10.6.8. Time Machine regularly gets stuck during one of its hourly backups. I can follow the steps outlined in this post to stop Time Machine and delete the .inprogress file and Latest folder, then restart Time Machine again:

The problem first occurred in March and the fix lasted for weeks. But the problem has been returning more quickly and now Time Machine usually hangs again after only a day or 2.
Thanks in advance for your help.

That's what I've been doing. It works temporarily - but lately it stops again after only 1 or 2 days. I'm hoping to find a longer term solution.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks for the recommendations, innocentdevil. I will create a new backup location - and also verify the permissions - we had some file errors and had to rebuild the raid around the time the problems started, and I didn't think to check that before. I'll post back after I make the changes.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

So far, everything is working well. I will let it run over the weekend and post back on Monday.
Thanks again.

Time Machine is still working since resetting the backup location. Thanks again for your help.
no danger. your welcome
Open the backup media and locate the file ending in '.InProgress'. Delete this file and then reboot the Mac Time Machine. It should then run properly.
Hope it helps.
