Hello, I will be writing a vb.net demo app for a win 7 tablet over the summer. I currently have VS2008 but am wondering if I need VS2010 in order to take advantage of various UI hooks to make my program able to use more win 7 tablet functionality? Can I stay with 2008 or would 2010 be a good investment?

I believe you can stick with VS 2008, but be aware:  VS 2008 cannot target .NET 4.0, so you won't be able to take advantage of anything within that framework version. Anything from 2.0 - 3.x should be fair game, though. If you want to target .NET 4.0, then you will have to use either VS 2010 or VS 11 (in beta currently).
