First thing I would do is Update Office to SP3

There are several performance related updates in this SP

If you still have performance issues
Make sure there are no Mapped Drives, Shortcuts in My Documents, or Printers that are broken, or no longer available/valid

Following that I would look a the documented known issues with Outlook Being Slowww and follow the reccomendations

Now assuming all of that doesnt help
Need to make sure the MailBox does not have too many PST files open (Personal or Archive)

Of the ones that are open need to make sure they are not nearing their maximum size
2GB for Non Unicode PST
20GB for Unicode PST

Should also check that these PSTs are stored locally, not on a shared Drive or netwrok location

Following the above should help Outlooks Performance issues imensley
