CentOS supports 2 platforms: i386 and x86_64. CentOS only produce binaries for these two platforms. Although RedHat Enterprise Linux (which CentOS guys compile theri code from their repository) supports more platforms these are the only platforms that CentOS supports.

CentOS, Oracle Linux, Scientific Linux etc. are all built from the sources of RedHat Enterprise Linux and virtually as stable as RHEL.

New Version of Cent OS 6.2 64 bit is also good. You can try with Cent OS 6.2.
