First - please don't tell me to redo everything in <div>s. If that were an option, I would, and I don't feel like explaining why it isn't an option. I'm stuck with tables.

That said - if someone could help me figure out why the colspans are working in IE and Firefox, but not Safari or Chrome, I would really appreciate it.
