Archive completed tasks in Outlook

I need instructions for archiving completed Outlook tasks so I can get them off of our bloated Exchange server. I already have an off-server .pst that I drag and drop e-mails I want to retain to. Ideally, as  I mark a task complete, I'd like to the same drag and drop to the .pst, but it doesn't seem to accept tasks, only e-mails.

You should be able to drag/drop task items to a PST the same way you would with email items, but you might need to drop them into a tasks folder rather than an email folder.

Do you get any errors when you try to do this?

When in Task view, the left pane doesn't provide anything to drag & drop to.

Oh, you need to be in folder list view, by clicking the little folder icon below Mail, Calendar, Tasks at the bottom left. Or create a custom view:
