Wangguard blog filter has empty moderation page. How must I modeerate?

My blog now has wangguard splogger filter,
in addition to akismet.

Wangguard admin panel claims to be stopping spam, but the moderation panel is always empty.
I am still getting spam posts.

How do I best use this, my blog is nearly ruined.

If I report a splogger, they never show up in the reported splogger list.

This seems to be not user-friendly. What am I missing?

If it makes you feel better, I went through the same thing on an active site.  The first couple of weeks were all manual reports but since then the system is working automatically.  Here's my Stats graph:

How do I report sploggers? correctly, so it learns.

There is no bulk report.

I am only getting splog now!
Just use the report splogger function in either the WangGuard | Users menu or the regular Wordpress Users menu.

So, after I see a spam, I report that user.

Will that train WG to find spam posts.

Can't I train it directly on the spam's page?
Yes, after you see a user make a spam post, report that user.  That will also remove the post.

Yes, those reports train the program to look for users you consider spam and also logs email addresses and ip addresses and will begin blocking those users from registering.

There is no spam page for Posts, just Comments.  This has been a constant problem for me trying to assist you because you keep mixing up the terms.  So, one more time:

WangGuard prevents users from registering on your site.  That will prevent users from posting either Posts or Comments IF AND ONLY IF you allow comments from registered users only.  If anyone can post a comment, WangGuard is useless to you and you must use Akismet to try and catch spam comments.

Sorry, man :)

Anyway COMMENT spam seems not to be a problem anymore, only post spam. So, I must just report sploggers and hope things get better?
Correct. Be patient.

Thanks so much.

My blog was doing so well, but as soon as these spam criminals got to me, people stopped posting, with my recent posts filled with " Best deals for [whatever] "

The comment criminals seem to have given up!

Thx,
Once a spam post is posted on my blog, if I delete the post, will it forget that that user is a splogger?

It seems to be much better already!

Thanks!
No.  When you report a user and delete their content, the user's information is sent to the WangGuard servers and stored.  So when that user or email address or IP attempts to go somewhere else that is also using WangGuard for protection, they get blocked again.  If they try to register on your site again, they get blocked.

In reality, you probably have very few attackers but each attacker is running an automated system that generate spam at a very high rate.  Blocking manually will cut out the most active networks and start the basic automated protection to prevent those people from creating new accounts.  Over time, you will block the secondary attackers either manually or automatically and pretty soon the frequency of the attacks will go down since the scripts will be reporting failures.

This is broadly similar to the Stop Forum Spam model...if we all report the bad users and IPs, the more protected we will all be.
