FTP and SFTP are protocols not code. If you want to submit files securely you can use SFTP or SCP.

Do you know of any vb6 SETP or SCP examples?

You said you have a "protected FTP". This implies you are using either SFTP or FTPS. Both perform FTP operations, but the manner in which each secures communication is very different from the other. It is important to know which method your FTP server expects.

As far as I know you are going to have to use a active x component from some company.

Visual Basic is Microsoft’s event-driven programming language and integrated development environment (IDE) for its Component Object Model (COM) programming model. It is relatively easy to learn and use because of its graphical development features and BASIC heritage. It has been replaced with VB.NET, and is very similar to VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), the programming language for the Microsoft Office product line.
