SQL Server2008 Error
Cannot connect - see attached screenshot.
New install of SQL Server 2008 on a new server - I just cannot connect to the database to import an Iris SQL DB for next stage.
Followed this article to no avail..

I did enable both of those as you did, so I have just disabled the named pipes and restarted the SQL services but I am still getting the same error.

Spoke with iris support further who pointed me in the right direction

I orginally enabled TCP/IP, and Named Pipes? but it would not work so I disable Named Pipes using Sql Server Configuration Manager resolved it for me.
