Can a user who's been added into active directory connect to a domain, if the computer he is logging in from has not been added as a computer in active directory?

If I may, let me ask this:

If a computer is registered in active directory, for a user to log in from there registered computer must that user be registered in active directory, or can any user of the registered computer log into the domain from a registered computer?
