MS Dynamics CRM 2011 Audit Settings
Hello Everyone,
I would really appreciate if any Dynamics CRM 2011 experts out there would be able to explain why I lose the "New Value" data (just the New Value data), when I toggle on/off the "Start Auditing" checkbox under Auditing/Global Audit Settings.
I know that there's a message window that comes out when you toggle the checkbox OFF that says "If you disable auditing, some change history data may be lost. Do you want to continue?", but why would microsoft remove some of the data when what you practically doing is just stopping the auditing feature.
You should be able to see the old auditing history without losing any data when you toggle this feature back ON.
I hope everything makes sense, if not, please let me know and I will desparately elaborate more of what I am experiencing.
Thank you in advance!!!
Sincerely,
BASTi

Hi Basti,
There is no way you could achieve this with out of box Audit settings however you can opt for a custom auditing option - mostly a plugin based but it will definitely require some effort(Development - Testing) to get it up and running.

Chinmay.

Agreed, a custom solution would be required.

thank you for your quick response!
Can you think of any workaround with this scenario where in when I toggle the audit feature back ON, it will contain, in you example, the 789?
Thanks!
