HP Scanjet 8500 Fn1 not able to see Network File Server

Our company just bought an HP Scanjet 8500 fn1 and for some reason with any path (Ip, Domain file path, Computer File Path) it is not able to see our file server. I am able to type in the path of my workstation (on a different Vlan than the server) and scan to that but for some reason. I have brought up the issue with HP support and so far there has been no luck.

Looking for any input / New ideas to get this working.

Can you ping it from the subnet where the file server resides?

Yes. I am able to ping from the server to the device.
try disabling the server firewall to test if it is being blocked there.

Pinging, while a good start, only confirms they are on the same subnet.  Depending on if the scan works after the firewall has been temporarily disabled, will determine our next suggestion.

There is no Firewall enabled on the file server itself. There are 15 other networked scanners across our network that have access to the file server the only difference being this is an hp scanner and the others are Konica Minolta and Canon Network Scanners.
Can you get to the web GUI?

The only thing i can think of is perhaps a problem with the way the VLAN are being routed.  Try this, take a laptop and assign it the IP of the scanner.  Then from there, unhook the scanner and plug in your laptop to test connectivity via pathping or tracert to the server.  If it is in a different VLAN, you should see the gateways, then the final IP, but more importantly, where it is stopping.

No suggestions made any difference. Firmware upgrade needed to fix issue.
