Exchange 2003 - SMTP Relay - From Server => Online Archive
Version: Exchange Server 2003
Greetings,
We have a server here (example SR01) that is used to host our CRM/HRM program
As part of its duties SR01 sends payment reminders/mails to our
customers via an SMTP relay.
We have an online archiving system that stores all mails sent and received by all employees. This is done by configuring journaling and using an SMTP connector that points towards our online archive provider.
Once a mail is sent by a user using our mail client (Outlook) is goes through the connector and as configured by journaling a copy is sent to the journal mailbox. Then evernight the archive system collects all the mail in the journal mailbox
My colleague has just informed me that there are no mails that are sent
from this server going into our Sonian archive. This means they are not even getting as far as the journal mailbox.
The mails that are sent are highly important and need to be in the archive.
How can this be achived? How can we direct those mails that are going from SR01 to pass through the SMTP connector and go into the journal mailbox because it is obious they are going around it................as customers are receiving their mails from us.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help

What is the software used to SSend these emails? How does it deliver? Does it relay via your exchange server?

Hi Neil,
I doubt you would know it, its not a well known CRM/HRM packet.
It relays via the Exchange server.
Thanks!

It is worth mentioning that we have a anti-spam solution here that does see the mails that are sent. If I check the logs for 'outgoing' they are there.
Strange.
I cant seem to get my head around this

And you ONLY have one send connector on the server and that sends ALL email out via your smarthost?
