Allow network device to send emails to an Exchange 2010 HUB server instruction.

Hello,

We have setup an Exchange 2010 Hub server receive connector to allow other network device to send email (EMC>server conf>hub transport>Hub server>create new receive connector).  In the network tag, I add IPs which the HUB server will receive mails from remote servers (or network device).

We have been asked to add a lot of network device which need to send emails to the this hub server.

Question, in the Exchange 2010 world, in order to allow a remote device to send email, do I need to setup whitelist like the above or can I just specify a domain login credential on the network device?  Or do I need both to be setup?

Please advice.

Thanks.
