My client has just started to write a WordPress blog, but they would like to have some part of the latest entry displayed on the homepage of their ASP-based shopping cart website.

How can we do this?

I thought of two ways, but don't know how to go from there:
1. connect to the MySQL database, retrieve the latest post (what table?), and display it along with a link to the post (how do I create the link?). This would all be done using classic ASP code (not ASP.NET and not PHP).
2. create an iframe and display the actual blog entry in the iFrame.

I do not know which would be the better method. Once I decide, I am missing a lot of information that would enable me to proceed.

Does anyone have any advise for me?

Thank you.
