Display WordPress post in ASP-based website

My client has just started to write a WordPress blog, but they would like to have some part of the latest entry displayed on the homepage of their ASP-based shopping cart website.

How can we do this?

I thought of two ways, but don't know how to go from there:
1. connect to the MySQL database, retrieve the latest post (what table?), and display it along with a link to the post (how do I create the link?). This would all be done using classic ASP code (not ASP.NET and not PHP).
2. create an iframe and display the actual blog entry in the iFrame.

I do not know which would be the better method. Once I decide, I am missing a lot of information that would enable me to proceed.

Does anyone have any advise for me?

Thank you.

Thank you for all your suggestions. The RSS fee solution works perfectly, and the ASP program at bytescount displays exactly what I want.
