How to transfer my accounts from Mozilla Thunderbird?

Hi Experts,

I have a Windows 7 computer and the hard drive crash but I have access to all the files.
I have MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD.
I need to transfer the 4 accounts with all the settings and emails into the new hard drive and It will be Windows 7 again, I follow some suggestions on this site like copy the profiles from the crash hard drive and paste the whole profile folder located on COMPUTER-USERS-JOE-APPDATA-THUNDERBIRD-PROFILES but when I open Thunderbird it is empty.

Please advise.

What you need to determine is exactly where your Thunderbird store folder was    For example, I always set mine to D:\Gary's Stuff\Thunderbird Mail ... I have over 6GB of mail stored in the folder structure there -- VERY well backed up on my network.

I gather from your question you don't know just where yours was stored ... so do a search on the old drive for *.msf to see if you can find the Thunderbird stores for your accounts.    Once you know the folder containing the mail -- e.g. "MyMailStuff" ... you can copy that entire folder to the new system -- and set Thunderbird to use that folder as your mail store.

You could also use the small utility "mozbackup" which allows you to save firefox and thunderbird profiles, and import them again:

You made it so simple and I was doing the whole process fine yesterday but the problem was I was putting the file in the LOCAL folder instead of the ROAMING folder.

Thanks
