Choosing the right Ubuntu system to run Ruby-on-Rails
Hello,
I have a job assignment coming up in which I will be working on a web application that uses Ruby-on-Rails - which I am currently unfamiliar with.
I would like to use a spare laptop I have to become familiar with Ruby on Rails. From what I understand, I will be working on an Ubuntu OS - which I am also unfamiliar with. Since I'm not using this laptop for anything else - I would like to just install the OS from scratch and make it my Ruby-on-Rails practice laptop.
I believe the version of Ruby-on-Rails I will be using is 3. However, I'm not really sure where to start for Ubuntu. I don't know which version of Ubuntu to download - and I'm not even sure if I need the desktop or server version.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
