I have a job assignment coming up in which I will be working on a web application that uses Ruby-on-Rails - which I am currently unfamiliar with.<br />
<br />
I would like to use a spare laptop I have to become familiar with Ruby on Rails. &nbsp;From what I understand, I will be working on an Ubuntu OS - which I am also unfamiliar with. &nbsp;Since I'm not using this laptop for anything else - I would like to just install the OS from scratch and make it my Ruby-on-Rails practice laptop.<br />

I believe the version of Ruby-on-Rails I will be using is 3. &nbsp;However, I'm not really sure where to start for Ubuntu. &nbsp;I don't know which version of Ubuntu to download - and I'm not even sure if I need the desktop or server version.<br />

Can someone please point me in the right direction?<br />
