What is the most accurate PDF OCR converter software?
Hi
What is the most accurate PDF OCR converter software?
I am trying to scan my paper invoices into pdf, then convert this to csv files.
I tried couple but they are not very accurate, doesn't get most of the text in the scanned document.
What is the best one out there? The one I can afford for my small business
Thanks
Jamie

Our company uses Laserfiche Avante to scan our paper into digital format and store them in SQL server. Then all of our files are searchable. It also has a print to laserfiche so you can store everything without printing it to paper. It has MS Office plugins as well. The software OCR's all scanned in documents and stores the text as an attachment to each page of the document. has a file structure very similar to Windows File Explorer. This is the most accurate OCR we found. It also has export to many file types. It is not a cheap solution but it will get the job done accurately. It also has an SDK available for the development side of business. I believe we paid $6000-$7000 for 4 concurrent seats and i think the annual service agreement is 10% per year. That was over 9 years ago so its hard to say what it cost to implement now. It definately helped us get rid of all the filing cabinets and our physical paper. This is a great solution for a small business and well worth the investment.

I was testing out OCR software, mostly sharewares and opensource. I just tried FineReader from your suggestion and it works great. A lot better than on the ones I was testing. I will try OmniPage soon. From the feature list and their videos, I think OmniPage will suit my needs pretty well. I was using 600dpi color. I will try black&white/300DPI with OmniPage.
Thanks for all your help!
