I have installed IIS 6.x successfully. I can see services have been started successfully.
Somehow I don't have any response to URLs http://localhostย or http://<Machine IP Address>
Thanks

The screenshot that you have shared is showing that you have not uploaded your web content yet hence landing to the default page (_holding.htm).
Please upload content, configure default document and set your index page. Also, make sure proper website binding is configured for the website you have created.

I didn't get much luck with windows server so I moved to windows 7 on my notebook.
The IIS 7 seems installed properly as I can see the default IIS page. Snap attached.
The next thing I need to do is configure a site and I am having trouble there. I don't see any option which would allow me to create a site.
Thanks

IIS is Internet Information Services, the web server included with Windows Server operating systems. All current versions are built on a modular architecture; modules can be added or removed individually so that those required for specific functionality are installed. The full installation of IIS includes HTTP, security, content, compression, caching, logging and diagnostics.
