IPMI Critical Stop/Shutdown sensor
Hello,

I rebooted my Dell R510 server running Server 2008 R2 Standard this morning and when it attempted to come back up, it got hung on the "Applying Settings" window.

I was able to boot into safe mode and find the following errors:

Error Code 2900:0221
Msg: IPMI OS critical stop/shutdown sensor (0x00)
Critical stop during OS run

DCOM got error 1068 attempting to start the service netman with arguments ""ย in order
to run the server.

There was also an error that the Network location awareness service failed to start properly.

I have been searching for a fix, but have had no luck.

Please help.

Thanks,
John

can you get in into the systems hardware to query the hw log?

do you have BMC/DRAC setup?
You could use ipmitool to query data.

Memory/CPU errors?

Problem in safe mode, you can not access the DSM web interface dell openmanage administrator.
