as xbouchardx pointed out....its always good to assign tags to virtual resources be it storage or servers....unless you dont have that in place...you may not be able to even use vmware chargeback or another tool.<br />

one way is to assign storage to each department or assign VM with a prefix for each department...with that done..you can simply export the virtual machines list in your cluster/VC to a excel file and assign costs to memory/cpu/storage in use and bill the relevant team accordingly.<br />

VMware storage usage reporting

VMware, a software company founded in 1998,  was one of the first commercially successful companies to offer x86 virtualization. The storage company EMC purchased VMware in 1994. Dell Technologies acquired EMC in 2016. VMware’s parent company is now Dell Technologies.
