Software to cut small portion from the screen

While making presentations, I need to show some pictures as to how and what should be done. Right now I am using print screen and then pasting the picture in paint and then cutting out the required portion. Is there any software which can be used to select the required area directly without the print screen and paint?

Why not just use the built in windows 7 snipping tool
Click start and type snip and you will see it
