PCI express card and Hp Universal print driver to attach laserjet 2100 to windows 7

Has anyone out there successfully done this?

Device drivers for the card loaded.

Installed printer on LPT1 and COM 1 neither will print a test page.

Can find no events that describe any printing problem?

I have it connected to an I?O Flex 1x parallel PCI Express card plugged into the first of 3 pci express slots...I believe that is com 1

There are 4 PCI ports, 1 is 16 pin the rest are 9, and are serial ports, and the card is a serial/parallel card

I don't know that card at all, so I cannot help much.

A printer needs to communicate back through its connection to the computer. So I have a LaserJet 5 hooked up by a Parallel (25 pin) to USB conversion cable. Not every cable will work because of these communications issues.

If you are trying to use LPT1, it needs to be 25 pin. I don't think 16 pin will work. I don't recall that the HP2100 has a serial interface so COM1 is not likely to work.

It the objective is just to print, you might try a Parallel <--> USB cable and try it. Get a good one and that should work.
