Bizzare stall in send/receive outlook 2007

Hi There,

This is more of a head scratcher then a proper problem as such.

I have a user running outlook 2007 on a windows 7 machine that refuses to complete the send receive action, it doesn't stop them from sending or receiving emails; just sits there in the corner like an ungainly toad.

Any suggestions as to why this would happen?
