Exchange 2010 ActiveSync - Recovery Password option - iPhones and Androids
Hi,
I have seen theat the Recovery Password option for Exchange 2010 doesn't work on iPhones or Andoid phones.
That being said, if we enforce the password on as part of the EAS Policy and a user forgets about it how do we reset the password to something or give him the option to configure a new one without wiping the device?
I have checked the Exchnage 2010 side and use EMC and EMS as described below. But it didn't work. The EMC doesn't give me an option to reset the password and the EMS with the following command "Get-ActiveSyncDeviceStati stics -Mailbox:"tonysmith" -ShowRecoveryPassword:$tru e" doesn't do anything it just displays a list of the devices that are attached to that particular mailbox.
The recovery password is blank so I am a little confuse...
Any way of getting this done?
Thank you

You need to be assigned permissions before you can perform this procedure. To see what permissions you need, see the "Exchange ActiveSync server settings" entry in the Client Access Permissions topic.
In the console tree, navigate to Recipient Configuration > Mailbox.
In the details pane, select a user, and then select Manage Mobile Device from the action pane. The device recovery password is displayed in the Manage Mobile Device dialog box.
Use the Shell to display the device recovery password

This example displays the recovery password for the mobile phone on the mailbox that belongs to Tony Smith.
