Express - SSRS 2008 R2 - Learning Phase

Hello All,

I had a question. If I install Sql server 2008R2 Express in my pc - will it come installed with SSRS  - I remember when I tried installing a year ago with SSRS - every time i tried login in to SSRS - it asked for server address of something - so my question is -

After I successfully install S Server 2008 R2 [Express] with advanced features - is there a way to install it in such a way that I can also use SSRS (reporting services) in a demo way and publish reports without connecting to any actual server -

Once again, I am  a novice, so excuse me if I was not able explain anything clearly .. and need some direction here....

Help is greatly appreciated

My goal is get started on SSRS with some hands on

Thank you Nicobo,

I wanted to verify that....nice....regarding your statement "So you need a SQL server database on that machine " - that has to be full paid version of SQL Server, and not SQL Server Express, correct?

SSRS Express connects to the SQL Server Express installed on the same machine. It lacks some of the advanced features though like report subscriptions.

Oh ok, now it seems I will ramp up pretty quick
