Neen information about routers and network printer

This question has two parts.
1) I am renting a room.  The house has Frontier internet (house is in No Cal).   I have a Lexmark Optra T610 network printer.   The printer used to work in the house I used to live in, but everything has changed in terms of the internet provider and the router.

1- Can I connect my own personal router then run my printer off it?
2- If not, then what information do I need to connect the printer?
