Oracle log size recommendations

We're running a few 2003 servers with Oracle Application 10g. After going through the server logs it appears that there was no default placed into the logging and the log files have grown to astronomical sizes. What i'm looking for is some recommendations on how large the log files should be, and what is the optimum configuration for the logs.

ORacle ADF (default-webaccess.log)  - currently our file is 18 GB
App Server Control (em-web-access.log) - currently 400MB
OC4J - (server.log) - each instance is currently 1 GB

Also could having the large log size cause issue's with in the applicaiton itself? I'm seeing instability in the application itself and even causes Apache to crash.
