Scan to SMB Problem with Windows 7 Pro

I have a Xerox Phaser 3300 MFP that several people use to scan directly to folders on their PCs via SMB.  All of these users were windows xp users up until recently.  The SMB setup on the device asks for the following information

SMB Server Address and Port
Share Name
User Name
User Password
User Domain
Scan File Folder

So with windows xp I would set it up the users IP (we use static IPs) as the address and use port 139.  the share name was C$, the user name was my active directory account and password, domain was my fully qualified domain name, and the scan file folder was a folder calls "scans" that i created on the root C drive of that computer.  This always worked just fine with no problems but we just had a user in that building finally get upgraded to windows 7 and it will not work for him.

I have tried the following things.

-Went into network security in windows and allowed sharing with devices that use 40 or 56 bit encryption
-Created a LOCAL user on the computer in question and used it as user and the computer name as the domain
-Shared out the "Scans" folder on the C drive and gave full control to the new local user and put scans as the share name on the xerox instead of c$

I've been all over the net trying different things but I can't get it to work.  What am I doing wrong?

I'm doing the same thing with a "public" (in house only) share on a samba box. All of my users can get to it, but it does use a different scanner as well.  It seems to work well to just have it scan to this network share they can get to.  I have a job to erase the contents every weekend. So they know to scan and move it.

I need it to be able to go directly to the PC like it always has for these users.

I ran that Reg file and then additionally had to turn off windows UAC but it worked after that.  Thanks for your help.
Well, like I said, I just run a Linux box with a Samba share and let it scan to there. It will NEVER have that problem.
