asked on

message tracking

i am trying to track a message in exchange (2007) and not able to find the results i should be able to.
i ran my query through the message tracking gui last week and received the results i expected, but when i run the same query today i get nothing. when i run the same query using powershell i do get some results but they arent as verbose as the ones i rcv'd from the gui?

i am no exchange expert or powershell commando by any means so i am sure i am probably over looking something. any help is appreciated.

Are you performing the message tracking from the hub transport server?

ASKER

yes.
it used to populate with the log entries for 'send', 'receive', 'delivered' etc which i could then select and get more detail, like the ip of the receiving server, time, etc
Can you post the powershell command that you are using? How many hub transport servers in the organization?

sorry, i thought i had answered this from my phone.
we are using a single hub transport and this is the command i am running

get-messagetrackinglog -Sender "user@OurOrg.org"-EventID "Deliver" -Start "6/29/2012 1:30:00 PM" -End "6/29/201
2 6:00:00 PM" >note1.txt
By garbled did you mean the data is with ... if so, you must use ft with -autosize parameter

info is not garbled, its lacking/limited.

that def gives better and more org info, thanks!
what exactly are the 'fl' arguments on that command?
FL is format-list and you can give all the arguments that you see in the output file. All details that you see in Management console
