Power Connector Question for EVGA GTX460

I am in the middle of my first system build and have a quick question.  My PSU is a Seasonic X-Series 650W 80+ Gold and my video card is an EVGA GTX460.  The video card needs two 6 pin power connectors.  My PSU has all modular cables.  I am wondering which cable I should use.

One cable has 8 pins on the PSU end and it splits into two separate 6+2 cables.  The 6 pin + 2 pin cables are labeled PCI-E.  I have never worked with 6+2 pins.  Do I simply plug in each of the two 6 pin connectors and leave the two 2-pin connectors hanging lose and unconnected?  This means I will have one 8 pin cable from the PSU powering the card.

I hope my description is understandable.
