Windows and domain authentication

i need to sort out a problem regarding windows and domain authentication... this is the scenario: we have a member server in our domain which has iis installed. when we try to access this application running on this member server that should require authentication but when we try to access it via web browser from a client computer no authentication is asked and the application does not work on the client computer.

Please Help!!!
